Can we arrange for a tasting prior to our event? If so, how much would it cost?
We do not offer wedding tastings until you have booked us. The cost of these tastings is built into the costs for your event.

What are the approximate price ranges for catered events?
Do you have an all inclusive flat rate or are things itemized? We do not have a flat rate. Events are priced based on what menu is created. Larger events such as weddings typically start at $75 per person. For smaller off site events we require a $1500 minimum be spent in food and beverage.

Do you provide Linens, flatware, china, water glasses, and napkins, salt and pepper,etc?
We do for up to 150 guests. For events over 150 people we will rent all of the china, glass & silver & you will be billed for the amount of the rental. We do provide basic white linen tablecloths & napkins for all events. Any colored linens can be rented and billed to your catering bill.

What amount is charged for tax and gratuity? What is the cost per wait staff?
6% MI Sales tax is added to the final bill. Gratuity is at your discretion as we pay our staff a catering wage. These wages are built into the food per person costs.

Do you have printed price sheets for food selections?
No. We write custom menus for each catering that we do and therefore each event is priced differently.

Do we have to rent any equipment you may need or do you handle that?
We will provide all of the equipment that we need to prepare & serve the food for your event.

Will the same person that helps us plan our event also oversee meal service on the wedding day?
Yes, our catering manager will be on-site to oversee all service at your event.

Will the caterer work any other events the same day as our event?
We never book more than one catering on a particular day.

Will you handle all table settings: dishes, place settings, centerpiece, favors,etc?
Our Staff will happily set all tables, however, we do not set up tables & chairs, dance floors, or decorations including centerpieces or favors. This is the responsibility of the party planner, floral designer, host or friends. We suggest hiring a wedding coordinator to other details like working with the Dj, cutting the cake, decorating etc. We are more than happy to provide recommendations for such coordinators.

Do you provide the waitstaff & bartenders?
Yes, we will only use waitstaff & bartenders that meet our high standards of service. We will staff appropriately based on the number of guests at your event and the scale of service needed.

Do you offer a kids menu? What is the cost difference?
We have done everything from mac & cheese and hot dogs to beef tenderloin for kids although we are happy to discuss any options you'd like. Cost is dependant on what kinds of food are chosen.

Will the food have to be prepared elsewhere?
We will not cater an event unless we can cook our food on-site. All food at Stella is made from scratch which is a factor that we will not compromise.

Do you have a license to cater?

Can we speak to previous clients? Do you have a reference we could chat with?
We are more than happy to provide references.

Can we have an outside baker make the wedding cake?
We do not offer wedding cakes so you will need to find a baker. We are happy to make recommendations.

Is it an additional fee to cut and serve the cake?
Yes, $3 per person

Do you box up any leftovers for us to keep?
If requested, we are happy to box up any leftovers, however we plan our menu based on the amount of guests and rarely have much leftover.

For clean up- what are we responsible for and what are you responsible for?
We will provide thorough cleanup of the kitchen area as well as general cleanup of the party area. We do not, however, remove decorations, sweep or mop floors in the reception area or clean bathrooms. Should you need to hire a cleaning crew we are more than happy to provide recommendations.

What type of deposit is required?
We require a deposit equal to 25% of the estimated cost per person. This deposit is non-refundable and is due when you sign your contract securing Trattoria Stella as your caterer.
